Legnago and the Plain of the Doges
They say that viticulture in the valley is worth little: taste our wines and change your mind.
Legnago is located south of Verona, in the middle of the plain, with its problems linked to the humid climate, but at the same time with fertile soil rich in water which, if known and managed wisely, is very generous and gives grapes of unexpected quality. The study of the soil and the grape varieties was fundamental to choosing which ones were suited to the composition of our land, which is of three types: sandy, clayey and mixed. For this reason, Annafrancesca also has its own Crus: portions of vineyard selected and cultivated to produce specific wines with unique characteristics. There isn't the typical temperature range of the hills, which is why not all grape varieties are suited to growing here, and they must be carefully selected. We have done just that, and that's why our Moscato Giallo is rich in aromas, our coppery Pinot Grigio has great character, and our Merlot, the King Merlot, gives us rounded, structured wines every year, rich in color and intense varietal aroma.180 degrees of sky..
Summer evenings in the Annafrancesca vineyard are never too hot, because a punctual breeze arrives while we work and tells us that the day is almost over; gradually, even the noise of the tractors fades to make way for the sounds of a thousand varieties of birds, and the mind imagines being in an exotic plantsTourism in Legnago
The Annafrancesca vineyards are hidden from view from major roads, but are easily accessible by GPS. Connections to Lake Garda and the neighboring cities of Verona, Rovigo, Ferrara, Padua, Mantua, and Vicenza are also very convenient thanks to the SS434 transpolesana and the nearby A31, A4, and A13 motorways.
Legnago offers many interesting tourist attractions, even for those visiting from abroad: from the Teatro Salieri to the Fioroni House Museum, the very long Adige River cycle path that reaches the sea, equestrian trails, educational farms, and a rich selection of quality food and wine, hotels, villas, and agritourisms, including luxury ones, and, of course, our winery, for tastings, visits, vineyard events, and purchases at the wine shop.
We collaborate with tour operators, wedding planners, and local hotels for tasting events in the winery, in the vineyard, or directly at guests' accommodations.
